In SIE LEIDEN LIEBER STUMM (engl.: THEY’D RATHER SUFFER SILENTLY) the filmed stage space becomes a catalyst of the discrepant act between private self reception and public outside perception, and the music becomes the main motiv, to help flee from the loop. This musical performance-film is characterised by ambivalent feelings of perception, tries to sensitize the audience to empathy in being with each other and giving each other feedback and works against the simple and effortless message, the title: THEY’D RATHER SUFFER SILENTLY.
Sara Trawöger (born 1992 in Linz, Austria) finished her bachelor’s degree in theater, film and media science in 2015 in vienna and is now studying the master’s degree Applied theater science in Gießen as well the master’s time-baded media in Linz. Her artistic work spans photography, sound works, installation and performance. Characterised by feminism, social and identity critique, she works around the essence of human existence. THEY’D RATHER SUFFER SILENTLY is her first longer film.
