The visible and the invisible. The one taking the photographs and the one being photographed. The presence and absence. The material and the immaterial. The ideal and the disturbance and the analoge image and the digital. At first sight it seems that all around the subject of photography there is a cleanly organised world of dualisms. Instead of a reconciliaton with this seperation, Riss Digital (engl: Tear Digital) exhibits a balancing act on the dividing line, trying to shift it, immersing ourselves deeper in the object or non-object.
The exhibition Riss Digital starts on the 21th October. On saturday, the 30th, there will be a finnissage with a DJ-set and a bar in the context of the State of the Art 13 Festival. More information on kunstraum53.de/.
The KUNSTRAUM 53 is a ‚work in progress‘-space in the Nordstadt of Hildesheim, organised by students. It serves as a space for artistic and curational (spacial) experiments and is a laboratory for new exhibition and event formats. It’s worked on by an exhibition collective.
Leonidas Kosmidis studies art and media in Hildesheim. Behind der camera and in front of a screen, his work during the last years in Hildesheim and Thessaloniki include different photographic and filmic projects. With an experimental approach he explores visual realities and material. The exploration has lead him deep into the digital space. Several of the results will be presented in this exhibition.
Artistic Direction: Leonidas Kosmidis
Curatorial monitoring: Theresa Tolksdorf, Mia Clara Ostern
Hinweis:
The access to KUNSTRAUM 53 is not barrier-free, the room can be reached via three steps.
