(eng.: A PLACE IS MY PLACE REMAINS A PLACE)
We looked at our own habits and experiences at the dinner table and examined how and through what they were shaped. We ate together while sitting at the same table. We realized that we all sit/sat at a dinner table as daughters and that we have had similar experiences at the dinner table because of this role.
We talked to ourselves and the people we eat with or have eaten with on a daily basis about their seat and role at the dinner table. We realized that our mothers also had similar experiences at the dinner table because of their role as mothers. Five different dining tables, five different families, and dozens of perspectives and versions of the experiences that were made at them, which were never or rarely talked about and reflected upon because of their ordinariness.
In the installation "EIN PLATZ IST MEIN PLATZ BLELEIBT EIN PLATZ" (A PLACE IS MY PLACE REMAINS A PLACE) we focused on these everyday occurrences in an attempt to set an impulse for the common reflection of the dining table as a familial/common space of experience. For this purpose we searched for parallels in our personal experiences, brought them together and made them tangible.
In their joint artistic work, the collective 490nanometer tests how feelings and atmospheres can be represented and experienced in an installative way. Interdisciplinary in character, the collective works in the artistic disciplines of photography and video work, performance, and the visual arts.
