Welcome to the playground of the monstrous. CREATURE FEATURE shows dancing moments between humans and monsters. In solo fragments, monstrous creatures can be observed moving in the urban public sphere. While these monsters are usually found apart from a society that has produced them, in the film they are directly exposed to the viewer. In their first film, the artist duo [mostly] harmless, together with four dancers, pose the question of what is titled and perceived as monstrous. The film was made in cooperation with Tanz-Arbeit Oberhausen and premiered online in April 2021.
Mira-Alina Schmidt and Anna-Luise Binder have been developing and realizing scenic projects in cooperation with various people and institutions in the Ruhr region since 2018. Their works are approaches to different artistic-aesthetic formats and thematic fields, which are tested and linked in an interdisciplinary way. Among other things, croissants, cultural pessimism and fog are relevant for the joint work processes. Both are currently studying for a master's degree in scenic research in Bochum and staging of the arts and media in Hildesheim. As part of the project “CREATURE FEATURE” [mostly] harmless worked with four performers from the context of theater studies in Bochum as well as the dance scene in the Ruhr area.
