(engl.: Approach to Şahmaran)
The project is about the queen of snakes named Şahmaran. She is a thousand-year-old figure from Kurdish mythology who is half snake and half woman. Using various artistic means including sketches, installation, interview excerpts, and music, the project aims to address various questions: What is the significance of the myth of Şahmaran as an orally transmitted story? What is said about her? And who tells these stories? What impact and what current references do the stories have; what can they teach us today? What manifestations does the character Şahmaran take on? Where can these manifestations be found? I would like to offer artistic answers to these questions in exchange with various narrators and keep the diverse perspectives on Şahmaran alive.
